The rules. The nomination is in Form No. 184 (sub-rule 1). Where more than one person is nominated, the amount or share for each is specified so that the whole is covered (sub-rule 2). If the employee has a family when nominating, the nominees must belong to the family and a nomination of a non-member is invalid; if the employee has no family, anyone may be nominated, but the nomination becomes invalid if the employee later has a family, and a new one is then made (sub-rules 3 and 4). For a minor nominee, the member may appoint an adult family member as guardian, or if none, any other person (sub-rule 5). The employee may modify a nomination at any time by written notice in Form No. 184, and if a nominee dies first, that interest reverts to the employee, who may nominate again; a nomination or modification takes effect to the extent valid on the date the trustees receive it (sub-rules 6 and 7).
